Numbers
- Numbers 20-69 need to add the word for the corresponding tens number and a number from 1-9
- Numbers 21, 31, 41, 51, 61 and 71 have et in-between.
- Numbers from 70-79 use the word for 60 + numbers 10-19
- Numbers from 80-89 use the word quatre-vingt meaning 4 20s.
- Numbers from 90-99 use the word quatre-vingt + numbers 10-19.
- Ordinal numbers can be shortened by adding an e or ème after cardinal numbers.
- For premier (première), it is shortened as follows: 1er or 1ère
- For second(e), it is shortened as follows: 2d or 2de

- Dates are always in lowercase unless it’s at the start of the sentence where the first letter of the first word is only in uppercase.
- If the first day of the month is referred, premier is used instead of un.

Time
- In French, the 24-hour military time is the preferred style to tell the time, but 12-hour time can also be used however, additional time word will need to be added to specify.]
- Il est is used to say It is (time)—common error is using C’est instead.
- Midi – Noon; Minuit – Midnight
- Time words are also used in French, which tells the relative fixed time.
