To what extent could the Nanking Decade be seen as a success?

I think to a certain extent the Nanking Decade could be seen as a success. While it may have prompted the prosperity of certain aspects of society, most of them were largely limited to the wealthy urban classes. However, it was one of China’s most successful attempts at reunification after the collapse of the Qing dynasty and allowed the international recognition of the KMT as a governmental body which would prove beneficial for their survival against the CCP later on.
